Day 3: What Are You Stepping Into? Crafting Your Own Shabbat – A 6-Day Journey to Rest

Crafting Your Own Shabbat – A 6-Day Journey to Rest

Now that you’ve made space by stepping away from the noise, it’s time to decide what you want to step into.

This is where your Shabbat becomes yours—not because of what you don’t do, but because of what you choose to do.

For me, Shabbat is where I reclaim time that’s actually mine. I give myself permission to enjoy it. I move slower. I rest without guilt. I do what feels good—not because I earned it, but because I need it.

Journal Prompt:
What restores you—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually?
When do you feel most like yourself?
What activities make you feel grounded, alive, or at peace?

Here are some “yes” options that might resonate:

  • Napping or sleeping in

  • Walking outside

  • Doing yoga or stretching

  • Reading fiction or sacred text

  • Cooking or eating mindfully

  • Sitting in silence

  • Creating art

  • Spending time with someone you love—or solo time if that’s what you need

Create your “Yes Please” list.

Write down 3–5 things you want to step into this Shabbat.
These can be simple. They don’t need to fill your whole day. You just need enough to make this time feel like a soft landing.

Bonus check-in:

Does anything you want to do require preparation?
Can you make space for it now, so you’re not scrambling on Saturday?

Tomorrow, we’ll design the rituals that mark the start and end of your Shabbat—because transitions matter.
